At a glance
This policy covers Study for IELTS and these app information pages. The upcoming version 1.0 includes optional Google Firebase Analytics and Google AdMob advertising. Usage sharing stays off unless you agree. Ads have separate privacy controls. The app does not send your answers, essays, scores, recordings or transcripts to analytics or supply them for ad targeting.
The app has no user accounts. Apple may process audio when its on-device speech recognition is unavailable. If you email support, the developer receives the information you choose to send. These situations are explained below.
Advertising and ad privacy choices
Occasional full-screen Google AdMob ads may appear after you choose Finish practice following a completed session. They do not appear during active questions or speaking recordings. Google User Messaging Platform checks privacy requirements and presents any required consent message before the advertising SDK starts. If ad setup or loading fails, learning remains available. Ad privacy choices are separate from optional Firebase usage sharing.
Ad requests disable personalization and publisher first-party IDs. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission or supply learning responses, scores, names, email, precise location or custom audiences to AdMob. Google's ad SDK can process IP-derived approximate location, app/device identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, crash logs and performance information for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Non-personalized or limited ads can still involve data processing.
Where Google requires a privacy entry point, use Today → Privacy & Support → Manage ad privacy choices to revisit it. Turning usage sharing off does not change ad privacy choices or erase data already processed by advertising services. Google may process data outside your country; see Google advertising privacy information and Google's Privacy Policy.
Optional usage sharing
Usage sharing is off by default. You can choose Share usage or No thanks in the app, or keep learning without answering. All learning features work either way. Change your choice at any time in Today → Privacy & Support → Share app usage.
If enabled, Google Firebase Analytics processes fixed-category events such as tabs opened, lessons completed and practice completed, together with app-instance identifiers, app and device information, session activity, approximate location derived from network information, and SDK operational diagnostics. The developer uses these reports to understand feature usage and improve the app. App-instance identifiers can connect activity from the same installation, so this is not fully anonymous data.
We do not send learner-entered text, answers, essays, scores, recordings, transcripts or content IDs to analytics. The app does not set a user ID. Advertising identifiers, vendor identifiers and advertising consent categories are disabled. Analytics is not used for advertising. Google may process information outside your country; see Privacy and Security in Firebase and Google's Privacy Policy.
Learning data on your iPhone
The app stores study progress, answers, automated study estimates, lesson completion, flashcard ratings, review history and schedules, preferences, and reminder settings locally using Apple system storage.
Speaking transcripts are processed for text-based study feedback. Some transcript text may remain in local review history. The app does not save raw microphone audio as a recording file or upload recordings or transcripts to the developer. It does not provide account-based cloud sync.
Microphone and speech recognition
The app requests Microphone and Speech Recognition permission when you start a speaking exercise. When your device supports on-device recognition, the app requires recognition to run on-device. Otherwise, Apple's Speech service may process audio remotely under Apple's privacy terms.
You can decline or later change these permissions in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security. Speaking transcription needs the relevant permissions; the other study features remain available. Apple manages its system services under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Reminders and vocabulary widget
Optional study reminders use local iPhone notifications. The developer does not operate a remote push-notification service. You can turn reminders off in the app or change notification permission in iPhone Settings.
The Home Screen widget displays vocabulary bundled with the app. The developer receives no widget activity.
Retention and deletion
Local learning information remains on your device until you reset it or delete the app. Open Today → Privacy & Support → Reset learning data and confirm to remove progress, review history, flashcard ratings and the daily vocabulary study plan, and disable scheduled reminders. This does not change your analytics choice.
Switching Share app usage off stops future analytics collection and resets analytics stored on this device. It does not automatically erase information already received by Google. Analytics retention is governed by the property's retention settings; aggregated reports may be retained separately. Contact the developer below for privacy questions or deletion requests.
Deleting the app removes its remaining local data. Offloading an app can preserve its documents and data. Any device backups are controlled separately through Apple and are not deleted by resetting the app. The developer cannot access or recover your local learning data.
When you contact support
If you email the developer, your email address, message and any attachments are received to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue. This correspondence is handled through email services and is retained only as needed to resolve support requests and meet applicable obligations. It is not used for advertising.
You can use the contact below to ask about or request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable retention obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information, private recordings or passwords.
This website and external links
These pages have no developer-added analytics, tracking scripts, embedded advertising or contact forms. The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request information, including IP addresses, under its Privacy Statement.
The app and these pages may link to reference websites or Apple services. When you visit those sites or send an email, the relevant service's own privacy terms apply.
Data sharing and future changes
The developer does not sell your personal information or share your learning responses with advertisers. Optional analytics and advertising services are processed by Google as described above. This policy and the relevant app disclosures will be updated when a release changes these practices.
